ABOUT US
Students in Pre-kindergarten- sixth grade visit the library once or twice a week as part of their special classes rotation. We learn library skills like how to choose a "just right book" and how to locate books by call number. We learn digital skills like computer coding and digital citizenship. We also learn about the research process using Tennessee state standards. Most importantly students come to the library to learn to love books and find books that interest them!

My name is Lexie Theriault and I am the school librarian. I have a Bachelor's degree in elementary education from the University of South Carolina and am currently pursuing my masters in library science also from the University of South Carolina. I taught fourth and fifth grades for nine years in South Carolina before moving here to Mountain City. I live with my husband Dan and our evil but cute dog, Lucca. Every spring students who have read at least three books in a category have the opportunity to vote for their favorite. The 2019-2020 winners are:
